Over in the Twitterverse, there’s this thing called Follow Friday, wherein you list in a tweet someone’s Twitter account as one you think other people should follow. I have (strangely, since I don’t tweet much, and nothing terribly interesting) been tagged a couple times since I started all this tweety-bird stuff. I haven’t really got into the groove of the thing myself, and in fact I haven’t started following anyone yet from an “FF”, but I have found a lot of interesting blogs via Twitter profiles, and lots of interesting articles via tweets folks send out.
In the past I have sporadically mentioned new blogs that I’ve started following, but the “Friday Follow” gave me an idea to make this process more organized, especially now that I have started to find so many new blogs. I’m going to start listing five new blogs that I’ve found that I think people should check out. They’ll be under Five Friday Follows, although I may not post every Friday, depending upon how many follow-worthy blogs I run across.
So, my inaugural Five:
Eden Cafe A website rather than a blog, but just chock-full of interesting posts, commentary, product reviews, contests and the like. CarrieAnn, of A View from the Floor, is an editor over there, so you’re sure to find some smart, pithy writing. (And okay, I’ll toot my own horn here, maybe some of my own occasionally.)
A Year of Living Flirtatiously Maura Kelly fearlessly chronicles the joys and pitfalls of her dating life right out here on the Net. Funny, poignant, and baldly honest, she doesn’t pull punches. I have been struck many times by her posts on the intersection of real life and the blogosphere, and how difficult/odd/sometimes uncomfortable it can be to be blogging so honestly about the people she dates.
H is for Harlot An Alison Tylor blog featuring short, steamy erotica written by various authors.
Views from the Back Row Half-Nekkid Thursdays are another way that I find new blogs to read. I didn’t realize that I hadn’t listed Osbasso’s blog in my blogroll until I went to get the link and it wasn’t there – big oversight on my part, since this is where that joy of joys, the HNT, comes from. Osbasso has lots more to say than just listing each week’s HNT, though. Definitely worth taking a look around.
Library Vixen’s Tumblr I already read her blog, but recently I found that she also keeps a Tumblr of erotic images/pictures. Some hot hot stuff in there!
Okay, that’s your Five Friday Follows! Go forth and, um…read!
